DECATUR, GA — Parker's On Ponce, the steakhouse in downtown Decatur, was robbed at gunpoint shortly after midnight on Christmas Eve, according to police.

At about 12:08 a.m. Sunday, a Decatur Police officer responded to a report of an armed robbery at the restaurant, in the 100 block of East Ponce de Leon Avenue. There, a victim told the officer he was in the restaurant's back office and heard a knock at the back door.

He checked the peep hole and saw a man wearing a dark, hooded jacket. The victim asked who was there and the man responded, "It's me." Thinking it was an employee, the victim unlocked the door, at which point the man pushed the door open and pointed a handgun at him, police said.
