Part Of East Ponce To Close Next Week
The lane closures, near Decatur, are for a county water-main project.

DECATUR, GA — Part of East Ponce de Leon Avenue near Decatur will be shut down starting next week for a construction project.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 3, part of Ponce between Interstate 285 and Market Street will be closed intermittently from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. for construction of the Clarkston Streetscape Water Main Relocation Project, DeKalb County officials announced.
The project started in September and will replace nearly 8,000 feet of water main pipes in the Clarkston area. Single-lane closures will be happening for the rest of construction, which is expected to finish in April.

Motorists and travelers in the area are urged to plan for extra commuting time. Lane closure signs will be up in the area alerting motorists.
