🌱 Pay As You Throw Bag Prices + Millage Rate Public Hearings

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Decatur-Avondale Estates.

Hello again, neighbors! It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Daily. Keep reading for the most important things going on in town these days.


First, today's weather:

Cloudy; humid with a t-storm. High: 85 Low: 70.


Here are the top three stories today in Decatur-Avondale Estates:

  1. Pay As You Throw bag prices will increase on Jul. 1 for Decatur residents. The increase was approved by the City Commission in early March. The 8-gallon green bags will now cost 40 cents, the 15-gallon yellow bags will now cost 70 cents, and the 33-gallon blue bags will now cost $1.40 per bag. (Decaturish.com )
  2. Is the current housing market making you feel a little overwhelmed?   3. The Avondale Estates City Commission will be holding a public hearing on the 2022 millage rate during its meetings today and tomorrow. The two public hearings are to discuss the proposed 9.8 mills rate. The rate remained the same for the last 4 years. (Decaturish.com)
