Police Chase Of Armed Robbery Suspects Ends In DeKalb Crash
The two men crashed their vehicle on I-285 after Sandy Springs police say they robbed 2 maintenance workers at an apartment complex.

Police were involved in a traffic pursuit late Friday morning involving two alleged armed robbery suspects which ended in DeKalb County.
Two maintenance workers at Park Terrace Apartments, located at 300 Carpenter Drive, were confronted and robbed at gunpoint by two suspects shortly after 11 a.m. July 31, Sandy Springs police said in a press release.

Sgt. Ron Momon, spokesperson with Sandy Springs police, said the victims were robbed of their wallets, cash and cell phones. The suspects fled the scene in a white Mazda vehicle with a temporary tag.
A Sandy Springs officer spotted the suspected vehicle on Roswell Road, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.
The vehicle ignored the traffic stop, and a pursuit ensued on I-285 westbound towards Atlanta. The suspect’s vehicle subsequently crashed on Interstate 285 at Interstate 20 on the west side of Atlanta.
A foot pursuit ensued, and one suspect was apprehended. The second suspect was caught a short time after fleeing into a nearby neighborhood.
The Georgia State Patrol and Atlanta Police Department assisted in the apprehension of the suspects, and Momon said two handguns were recovered.
Both suspects are being interviewed by detectives at the Sandy Springs Police Department’s headquarters, and their names will be released Friday afternoon.
