Police Investigating Noon Burglary on Garland

Three to four men were filmed by a nearby witness breaking into the residence on Wednesday.

Decatur police are investigating an early afternoon burglary in the 100 block of Garland Avenue.

“A witness observed three to four black males wearing black hoodies and jeans committing the burglary and attempted to film the incident with his cell phone while concealing himself behind some trees/bushes,” said Lt. Jennifer Ross. “One of the suspects noticed the witness and pulled a firearm and fired one time toward the direction of the witness.”

The witness wasn’t harmed in the incident.

“The suspects dropped electronic items at the scene and fled south on Garland Avenue towards East Pharr Road in a red Hyundai sedan,” Ross said.
