Police Seek Help Solving Avondale Business Burglary

Burglars tried to steal money from an ATM inside an Avondale Estates store, police say.

AVONDALE ESTATES, GA -- Police are asking for your help to solve a burglary Saturday at a business in Avondale Estates.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, Avondale Police responded to a forced-entry burglary at a store in the 3200 block of Covington Highway.

They say someone broke a window between the hours of 2:30-6:30 a.m. and entered the business, trying to remove cash from an ATM in the store.

The burglar, or burglars, damaged the ATM, but weren't able to get any money out of it. An alarm was set at the store, but didn't activate because of where the burglars entered, Avondale police said.

No other items were reported missing.
