Presidential Primary Results: DeKalb Was With Hillary
Clinton easily outpaced Sen. Bernie Sanders in DeKalb County, en route to a sweeping Democratic primary win in Georgia.

DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb County was firmly in the camp of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesdsay, giving her a big edge over rival Sen. Bernie Sanders en route to a convincing Democratic primary win in Georgia.
In DeKalb, Clinton got 82,348 votes in Super Tuesday balloting, compared to 32,572 for Sanders.
Those numbers are according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

In fact, DeKalb narrowly missed handing Clinton the most votes of any of Georgia’s 159 counties. She only fared better in Fulton County, where she captured 82,576 votes.
Overall, Clinton won an overwhelming 71 percent of the vote in Georgia. She got 522,028 votes, compared to 210,320 for Sanders.

On the Republican side, DeKalb bucked the trend of the rest of the state, which went comfortably to billionaire Donald Trump.
DeKalb’s smaller turnout of Republicans favored Florida Sen. Marco Rubio instead.
Rubio tallied 18,231 votes in DeKalb, compared to 11,141 for Trump. Sen. Ted Cruz took third with 6,805 and Ohio Gov. John Kasich got 5,563 DeKalb votes.
Statewide, Trump’s 498,529 votes swamped the competition. Rubio was second with 314,235 and Cruz was third with 303,427.
