Public's Help Needed In Finding Kidnapped DeKalb Toddler

DeKalb County Police said the 2-year-old boy was kidnapped late Wednesday night.

DECATUR, GA β€” DeKalb County Police are seeking the public's help in finding a 2-year-old boy who they say was kidnapped around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police need help locating J'Asiah Mitchell. Police did not identify any possible suspects.

"We have been urgently working to identify the circumstances leading up to the kidnapping; however, we need the community's help finding Josiah," police said in a statement Thursday.

Mitchell was last seen wearing Buzz Lightyear pajamas, police said.

DeKalb County Police's Homicide Assault Unit is investigating the case, working to identify possible witnesses.

Police said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was contacted about releasing an Amber Alert; however, police said criteria was not met to release an alert.

"Our priority is locating J'Asiah safely while we continue to investigate the matter," police said in a statement.
