Pushup Throwdown 2014
Come join a day of fitness, fun, great food and beer! September 13, 2014 at 10 a.m.
FitWit, an award-winning outdoor group exercise program, is challenging Atlantans to test their limits in support of a good cause during the inaugural “Pushup Throwdown” on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Benefiting the FitWit Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free fitness programs that build strength and develop character for young people who need it most, participants will gather at Wild Heaven Craft Beers brewery in Avondale Estates at 10 a.m. as friends and family pledge to donate money for every pushup performed.
Presented by the FitWit Foundation, Wild Heaven Brewery, and Alternative Apparel, the Pushup Throwdown, will take place in waves from 10 to 11 a.m. Money raised will go directly to programming for providing free fitness and character building programs in high schools for youth not involved in sports - helping the FitWit Foundation reach its goal of being in 10 schools in Atlanta in 2015. Donations can also be made through flat rate amounts, but those who choose to brave the challenge will receive a t-shirt, a Wild Heaven Craft Beers tasting, brewery tour, access to the brewery patio party, and more with a $20 registration fee. While preregistration is suggested, walk up registration will be available on the day of the event.
“So far, more than 650 youth throughout Atlanta have experienced our free fitness program through the FitWit Foundation that is designed for students not involved in sports. While decreasing obesity and improving fitness are important to us, our primary aim likes in using fitness as a vehicle to empower children to believe in themselves and strive for success every day,” says Josh Guerrieri, founder of FitWit and the FitWit Foundation.
