Restaurant Owners Ban Together To Prevent Decatur Car Break Ins
Several car break-ins prompted a few restaurant owners in Decatur to find a solution.
DECATUR, GA — When a series of DeKalb County car break-ins escalated to an employee becoming a victim, restaurant owners stepped up.
Thieves in the Grove Park area of Decatur have broken several car windows, reports WSB. The incidents have been occurring in restaurant parking lots and cafes. Some nearby homes have also been targeted.
Taqueria de Vecino owner Rob Atherholt tells the news station that the break-ins have been happening for months. When one of his employees had her window smashed and bag stolen, Atherholt said he and other nearby businesses came together. Now the area is monitored by a hired off-duty DeKalb County police officer.
