Ribbon Cutting Wednesday For Decatur Segment of the Michelle Obama Trail
The Michelle Obama Trail is a $3.9 million project. The ceremony will take place at the Georgia State University Decatur Campus.
DECATUR — DeKalb County officials will host Wednesday a ribbon-cutting at the newly-constructed 2.2 mile segment of the Michelle Obama Trail, according to a news release.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Georgia State University Decatur Campus, 2946 Clifton Spring Road. The public is invited to view the event live on DeKalb County Television (DCTV) on Channel 23 for Comcast Cable subscribers in DeKalb County. The event also will be streamed live at www.DCTVChannel23.tv.
The trail includes an installation of a 12-foot-wide path primarily consisting of concrete and sections of a wooden boardwalk and two steel truss bridges. This $3.9 million project was funded by the DeKalb Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), Georgia Department of Transportation and the PATH Foundation.
