Gourmands who are fond of a certain Szechuan restaurant may want to start knocking down the doors of Decatur City Hall to ensure that the recently-closed eatery re-opens in town.

Decatur Metro, citing a report from Atlanta Magazine, says that the owners of Gu’s Bistro have their eyes on Decatur as a potential landing place for their reborn restaurant. The restaurant recently left its cramped quarters on Buford Highway, but owners Yvonne and Zahed Gu haven’t left the restaurant scene; Gu’s Dumplings is one of the latest additions to the popular Krog St. Market.

Yvonne Gu told Atlanta magazine that the new restaurant could open as soon as this summer or as late as the end of the year, depending on several factors like negotiating a lease. Gu added that the new restaurant’s menu will be significantly pared down from the old establishment’s offerings.
