Serial Armed Robbery Suspect in Custody

Man suspected in string of robberies at storage facilities. DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Squad made arrest at Decatur motel.

The suspect in a series of armed robberies has been arrested in Decatur, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Ricardo Joshua Hudson, 22, of Marietta, was wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies of storage facilities across DeKalb County and possibly in Atlanta and Gwinnett Counties since October, according to a Sheriff’s Office release.

The Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad arrested Hudson on Thursday when deputies located him outside a motel on Memorial Drive in Decatur, according to spokesperson Cynthia Williams.

“After attempting to flee on foot, Mr. Hudson collided with a Sheriff’s Office vehicle as he crossed the roadway and continued to run but was apprehended and arrested,” Williams said.

A weapon was found at the scene but the arrest took place without incident.

Hudson is being held in DeKalb County Jail on five charges of Felony Armed Robbery and one charge of Probation Violation.
