Murder Suspect In Custody After Neighborhood Evacuated

Sheriffs were serving the warrant in Stone Mountain's Diamond Key community when the suspect fled.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Updated at 3:43 pm — A murder suspect is in custody after a Stone Mountain neighborhood was evacuated on Tuesday afternoon.

Shots were reportedly fired when DeKalb sheriffs arrived at a Diamond Key neighborhood residence and attempted to serve the warrant, reports CBS 46.

Several nearby residents were evacuated while police and SWAT teams searched for the suspect, according to WSB.

Several officers were seen surrounding the home with several police vehicles also on the scene.
