Silde the City Re-Do Has Date, New Location
The previous iteration of the event was postponed due to a water main break.

A 1,000-foot long water slide that was scheduled to make an appearance in Decatur last month will return next month to make up the day lost by a water main break, organizers say.
Slide the City was originally going to happen at the Decatur Beach Party on July 25, but a water main break forced organizers to postpone the event.
Now, Decatur’s date with the massive slide is set for Sept. 12, the city’s blog reports. In a bit of even better news, the city is relocating the slide from the original location on W. Ponce de Leon Avenue to McDonough Street, increasing the slope of the slippery slide.
