SPLOST Extension Moves Forward By Decatur, School Board
Both want the special sales tax for another five years.

The Decatur City Commission and school board agreed to reauthorize SPLOST sales tax for another five years.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the measure was approved Monday night. If approved by DeKalb and Atlanta school systems, then citizens will vote on SPLOST IV in November.
Last week, City Schools of Decatur said SPLOST IV could help pay off the new Fifth Avenue Academy, the new school slated to open in August to fourth and fifth graders.
