Suspect Charged After Decatur Shooting Injures 6

The 18-year-old, currently hospitalized, is facing charges of aggravated assault and other charges in connection with the Decatur shooting.

DECATUR, GA — Police have identified and charged a suspect in connection with a shooting that injured six men last week at Greenway Drive.

DeKalb County Police said Monday that Jerone Wilson, 18, has been charged on suspicion of five counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Wilson, who was accused of instigating the incident, is currently hospitalized, police said.

The shooting happened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, when a verbal dispute escalated. Police said Friday the injuries sustained were serious but not life threatening.

Those who were injured range in age from 18-48. They were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
