Teen Killed in DeKalb Car Wreck

Two other teenagers were injured as a result of the Thursday morning wreck, police said.

An 18-year-old woman is dead and a 16 and 17-year-old were taken to the hospital after a car accident in DeKalb County Thursday morning, police said.

According to WSB-TV, a Pontiac G6 traveling north on Snapfinger Road near Browns Mill Road in Lithonia drove off the road and hit a tree at approximately 8 a.m. Police told the station that the driver’s side of the Pontiac took the brunt of the impact.

The 18-year-old driver and her two passengers were rushed to Altanta Medical Center, where the 18-year-old was pronounced dead, according to police. The passengers were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

DeKalb County Police Traffic Specialist Unit personnel are continuing to investigate the fatal crash, but already believe that speed was a factor, WSB-TV says.
