These Are The Best Places To Live In Georgia

DECATUR, GA — What’s the best place to live in Georgia? That depends on who you ask and according to a new set of rankings released by Niche.com, Decatur, an Atlanta suburb, is the best place to live in the Peach State.

The suburbs around the Atlanta metro placed prominently in the rankings released April 17. Placing in the top 10 are Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Suwanee, Roswell, Peachtree Corners and Avondale Estates. A Decatur resident describes the community as centrally located to major shopping areas, local food places and hospitals. "The school system is one of the best in the country and there is always something to do on the square in town. There are festivals for adults and children and on Saturday nights in May, June and July there are free concerts on the square. A popular club is Eddie's Attic where Sugarland, John Mayer and the Indigo Girls got their careers going. It's great!"

To arrive at the rankings, Niche.com took several factors into consideration, such as the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics and access to amenities. Niche created a standardized score for each factor and after weighting each factor, an overall score was calculated, which was again given a new standardized score.
