Two Teens Arrested in Lavista Road Murder Of Chamblee Man
The DeKalb Sheriff's office says the murder may have been related to a drug deal gone bad.
DECATUR, GA — Two teens have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Chamblee man.
Benjamin Carpenter, 18, and a 15-year-old boy are facing murder and aggravated assault charges in the shooting death of Lucio Vasquez, 22, on August 11, reports the AJC.
Police say Vasquez had directed another party, a 19-year-old woman, to take him to the Sloan Square Apartments on Lavista Road. Two young men were waiting on them when they arrived and got in their car. Vasquez then lunged toward the men and was then shot.

The suspects fled the car, while the woman, whose name has not been released. took Vasquez to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The sheriff's office believes an illegal drug transaction may have led to the shooting.
