Warming Centers Open With DeKalb County Under Freeze Warning

Three warming centers in DeKalb County will be open at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

DECATUR, GA — Three overnight warming centers will be open at 8 p.m. Tuesday in three DeKalb County locations, according to county officials.

According to the county, COVID-19 protocols will be in place.

The warming centers will be at the following locations:

  • Fire Station 3, 100 N. Clarendon Avenue, Avondale Estates
  • Fire Station 4, 4540 Flakes Mill Road, Ellenwood
  • Fire Station 6, 2342 Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta

According to the National Weather Service, DeKalb County is under a freeze warning, starting midnight Wednesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The county is also under a freeze watch, starting Wednesday night through Thursday morning, according to the NWS.
