Water Service Disruptions to Continue Through Wednesday Afternoon

A water main break at Superior and Willow is affecting nearby communities.

DECATUR GA -- Water service disruptions are expected to continue through Wednesday afternoon, as crews continue to repair a water main break at Superior Avenue and Willow Lane.

Decatur Metro and the Decatur Minute are both reporting a broken 14-inch water main has affected several nearby communities.

Decaturish is reporting that DeKalb crews will begin restoring water pressure sometime later today.

“Water is temporarily being restored to affected areas,” according to a DeKalb County statement. “Businesses and residences will have water overnight, but service will be interrupted again tomorrow as crews continue to repair the 14-inch water main on Superior Avenue. Residents may experience reduced water pressure during this time. Crews will remain on site throughout the night. Weather permitting, repairs will continue on Wednesday.”

The break occurred around 7 pm on on Monday along North Superior Avenue between North Decatur Road and Willow Lane.
