When is Graduation for Decatur High School?
The big day for Decatur seniors is quickly approaching.

Seniors who attend Decatur High School are looking forward to the day when they get to don their caps and gowns and walk in graduation. Luckily for them, that day isn’t far away.
According to Decatur High School’s website, graduation ceremonies will commence promptly at 7 p.m. on May 28 at the stadium. If it rains, the ceremony will be moved to the gymnasium and the start of the ceremony will be delayed by one half-hour to get everyone relocated.
The speaker for this year’s graduation is Kim Bearden, co founder and executive director of Ron Clark Academy.

- Gates open at 6pm. Guests should be seated by 7pm.
- Parking is available for free in the upper and lower parking lot; overflow will go to the Callaway building lot or the parking garage on Trinity Ave. The Decatur Police Department will be directing all traffic and will let you know when the lots are full. Guests needing handicap accessibility may pull into the back lot. There will be some spaces specifically held for handicapped guests, however, as it gets late we may ask you to drop off and then park in one of the other lots.
- No one will be admitted carrying bags, balloons, banners, posters or large mementos. This blocks the view of other families to see their graduates and causes interruptions in the ceremony.
- Though we are in the stadium, we are committed to maintaining the ceremonial aspect of the graduation.
- Please refrain from bringing noisemakers or unnecessary items to the ceremony. Your students know you are proud and there are many other ways to show it.
- Each guest must show a ticket upon entry. We hope that most guests will fit on the home side of the stadium in order to have a good view of the procession. However, if that side does fill up, we will ask guests to go to the visitor side. Please be mindful of this possibility and arrive early.
