Where To Find The Best Sports Bar In Georgia: Daily Meal

Whether you want to cheer on the Falcons, Hawks or Braves, this is Georgia's best sports bar come game day, the Daily Meal says.

ATLANTA, GA β€” With the Kansas City Chiefs now set to face the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl β€” pause to mourn the Atlanta Falcons' absence in the title game β€” football fans can still enjoy the big game at a top-notch watering hole. The Daily Meal has ranked its favorite spots in "The Best Sport Bar in Every State."

Georgia's entree on the list is Taco Mac in Atlanta, which has long been a place for fans to dig into hot wings and craft beers, and has grown to several locations in the metro.

Sports fans love to watch the big game surrounded by fellow enthusiasts while enjoying an ice-cold drink and classic bar food, editors said. "There are plenty of breweries, bars and bottomless brunch spots that also happen to have TVs, but these are not those bars. These bars are all about sports from football to soccer to UFC fights. And along with stellar food, drinks, entertainment and staff, they have an atmosphere that ripples with energy on game day," The Daily Meal said.

Here's a look at what the food site said about Taco Mac: "According to Atlanta sports fans, local chain Taco Mac is the top sports bar destination in the Peach State. Taco Mac was founded in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood in 1979 by two natives of Buffalo, New York, who brought their city’s signature style of wings down south. Here's how the original Virginia Highlands Taco Mac describes itself: "The original Taco Mac, this location has been serving the Virginia Highland community since it all started back in 1979 when a couple of guys from Buffalo, NY made a pit stop in Atlanta on their way to Florida. After touring the city and enjoying the weather they decided to stay. All they had was a little cash and a great idea to bring a popular northern cuisine to the sunny South. Now they just needed a location to get the ball rolling. It didn’t take long to find the perfect spot, a quaint little taco shack on the corner of Virginia and North Highland Avenues – now known as Virginia-Highland. It is a quiet neighborhood, tucked away like a well-kept secret, and one that welcomed Taco Mac as the neighborhood hangout.

"Taco Mac offers the most β€œCraft on Draft”” with over 100 taps of craft and local brews, casual American fare, like fresh never frozen buffalo wings, and 35+ HD TVs for watching all your favorite sports. Started in 1979 by two friends who found their way from Buffalo, NY to the warmer and sunnier Atlanta, Taco Mac has grown from those humble beginnings to over 25 locations across the Southeast."
