Woman Dies After Fall at VA Medical Center

A woman has died from injuries suffered when she either jumped or fell from the parking garage at the Atlanta Veterans Medical Center near Decatur.

Pat Bailey with the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Monday that an autopsy has not yet been performed on the woman. Investigators have not determined if Friday’s fall from the third floor of the garage was an accident or intentional.

DeKalb fire Capt. Eric Jackson told the newspaper the victim later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The woman’s name will be released once relatives have been notified.
