DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Douglas County administrator David Corbin is resigning from his post, county officials said Wednesday.
Corbin's resignation, formally accepted by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, will take effect on Sept. 9.
He has served as county administrator since January 2023 and oversaw the daily operations, county officials said. Corbin has also filled the role of the county's chief financial advisor since 2016.
"It has been an honor to serve Douglas County for the last 10 years," he said in a news release. "I am grateful to have worked with an exceptional team of professionals and dedicated community stakeholders who have worked collaboratively to move this county forward. I leave proud of our accomplishments and confident in the organization's continued success."
County officials say they will immediately start searching nationally for Corbin's replacement.
Tiffany Stewart‑Stanley, assistant county administrator and chief of staff, will serve in the interim.
"I extend my sincere appreciation to county administrator Corbin for his years of dedicated service and leadership to Douglas County government," County Chairman Dr. Romona Jackson Jones said in the release. "As we move forward, our priority remains ensuring continuity in county operations and maintaining the high level of service our citizens expect and deserve."
