Inmate Trustee At Large After Leaving Work Detail In Douglas Co.

Douglas County authorities say the man got into a car; however, they say the man was not found when the car was stopped in Cobb County.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Authorities are searching for an inmate trustee they say got into a car and left his work detail Thursday in Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Isaac Kindle was assigned to the department's car wash when he got into a vehicle with a female around 9:30 a.m.

Authorities later stopped the car in Cobb County and took the driver into custody, they said.

However, Kindle was not located in the car, authorities said. They added they believe Kindle is no longer in Douglas.

County jail records on Thursday showed Kindle was arrested on June 22 and faced charges of theft by shoplifting and failure to appear. The 21-year-old was being held without bond, according to jail records.

"There is no known threat to the public at this time," authorities said in a news release.
