DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A man who called 911 after realizing he could not pay his bill at a local restaurant recently was arrested, the Douglas County Sentinel reported Tuesday.
The incident happened Friday at a Highway 5 seafood restaurant, the news outlet reported, citing arrest warrants.
The news report identifies the man as Abdul Hakeem Rasheed and states officers believed the emergency call was made to get out of paying a $63.77 bill.
Douglas County Jail records on Wednesday showed Rasheed faces charges of theft of services and unlawful conduct during a 911 call. He was granted a combined bond of $4,500, jail records showed.
