1. Turn Up the Heat This November! Atlanta Chili Cook Off Returns with $5,000 in Cash and Prizes (fultonneighbor.com) — Dunwoody residents can spend Saturday, November 14, enjoying the Atlanta Chili Cook Off at Brook Run Park, featuring unlimited tastings from more than 50 chili teams. With $5,000 in cash and prizes, multiple award categories, and free admission for kids 12 and under, locals can either compete with their own recipe or simply come hungry for a fall afternoon outdoors.
2. GCIV Global Decisions Lecture Series: Georgia and the Global Economy (globalatlanta.com) — Dunwoody neighbors are invited to Dunwoody United Methodist Church on October 15 for a GCIV Global Decisions lecture on Georgia's role in the global economy, led by Trevor Williams of Global Atlanta. The evening includes an optional networking social, in-person or Zoom attendance, and discounted or free admission for students and GCIV members.
3. MJCCA Book Festival Vice-Chair Tracey Grant's favorites (roughdraftatlanta.com) — Dunwoody's MJCCA campus will host the 35th Book Festival from Nov. 1–22, bringing big-name guests like Jill Biden, Harry Connick Jr., and Dara Horn right to Tilly Mill Road. Vice-chair Tracey Grant highlights intimate daytime author talks, hands-on craft and cooking workshops, and a closing event tackling antisemitism, with tickets already on sale for local readers.
4. DeKalb County considers environmental impact study on data centers (fox5atlanta.com) — DeKalb County commissioners met at Dunwoody City Hall to consider hiring an independent firm to study how large data centers affect local land, water, air, and health. With a moratorium on new centers already in place, the upcoming vote could shape future development, noise, and utility impacts for Dunwoody-area neighborhoods.
