DeKalb man arrested for marijuana possession

Officers also found evidence he was selling the drug

A 68-year-old man who lives near Murphey Candler Park was arrested by Dunwoody Police for suspicion of possessing marijuana and intending to sell it.

Roy W. Reaves, of the 4000 block of Navajo Trail Northeast, was stopped Sunday for running a stop sign at Nandina Lane and Mt. Vernon Road - where the city gets lots of complaints for traffic issues, according to a city police report.

The officer who pulled Reaves over could smell marijuana coming from Reaves' truck, said Timothy Fecht, a Dunwoody police officer. The arresting officer found inside the vehicle more than an ounce of marijuana and marijuana "blunts" - a marijuana cigarette rolled in cigar paper.

Reaves was charged in connection with possessing marijuana and intending to distribute it. The second charge stemmed from the arresting officer finding a plastic container and bags as well as a plastic grinder for breaking up the marijuana, Fecht said.

Reaves was booked in DeKalb County Jail after the incident. His 2002 Toyota Highlander was towed from the scene, according to the city police report.
