DHS Principal Addresses Parents
The newly minted DHS principal is launching the new school year by telling parents of classroom shifts and last-minute enrollments.

Local blog Dunwoody School Daze recently posted an open letter from Noel Maloof, the new principal at DHS after leaving his post at Vanderlyn Elementary, a highly respected school in the city.
Most of the letter deals with the nuts and bolts of launching the new school year, but it is important nonetheless; some students could face a shuffle in classes and other glitches.
So in the interest in bringing you up-to-date school information, we've posted Maloof's letter. And below, be sure and leave us a comment on how you thnk the school year has started under Maloof's guidance.

Here is Maloof's letter, in its entirety:
Parents,
We are off to a great start this year. Our school is running better than ever. Our teachers have come back from the break refreshed and full of teaching energy. This will help us reach our goals in teaching excellence. I am proud of the work we have already begun and anticipate many great things for 2012 - 2013. Please be patient as we make changes and adjustments to enhance Dunwoody High School and support the longstanding tradition of excellence.
We are still experiencing a record amount of last minute enrollment. This has caused us to change some of the usual procedures, allowing us to process the volume of information that we must handle. I appreciate your patience. We will stop accepting any schedule change requests on Thursday. Remember, these requests will be handled through Mrs. Watts and may not be made right away. Request for specific teachers will not be considered without the approval of the principal. Changes that help us to balance student semesters or prepare them to graduate are our top priority. It is our goal to complete this process by Friday and have the new schedules delivered on Monday. This is taking into account that most requests have already been made. We may not be able to make all of the adjustments requested due to space limitations and a limited number of instructors in some areas.
Next week we will be working to balance any overloaded classes and begin the process of adding any staff that may be necessary. Please understand that this is not optional and some students may be affected in an effort to reduce class size below our maximum numbers. We appreciate your continued support and patience. Together we share that "Wildcat Pride."
- Noel Maloof
