School video wins national popular vote for Discover Languages video contest

 

Dunwoody High School's language students are popular nationwide.

The DHS World Language students won a national 'Discover Languages' contest from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

"We live in a global society. Studying a language is essential," the video says in the opening. 

The video includes snippets of speaking in Spanish, Bengali, French, German, Hebrew, Mandarin, Turkish and English.

DHS won the popular vote, three other high schools also won national awards.

The class will receive a certificate for being the popular vote winner and $100 check will be donated to the school.

The ACTFL says the campaign is designed to bring attention to the need for students to have the opportunity to learn a second language.

Dunwoody High School World Language Department Instructional Leader and Spanish teacher, Clarissa Adams-Fletcher, is the 2011 ACTFL National Teacher of the Year.
