Dunwoody Elementary Takes to the Slopes

On Dec. 10, students at DES headed up to Maggie Valley in North Carolina for a day for skiing and snowboarding

On Saturday, Dec. 10 members of the Dunwoody Extreme Sports Club (DES) hit the slopes in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.

This is the fifth trip to Cataloochee for DES since its opening in 2008. Students were given the opportunity to take ski/snowboard lessons after school in November on a dry slope.

“It was awesome. I got to ski at school!” said Katie Miller, DES fifth grader. “I can’t wait to go on the trip and ski on the big hills. This is my second year in Ski Club.”
