Dunwoody High's SAT Scores Beat State, National Averages

School has average total score of 1515 for the 2011 test

Dunwoody High School slightly improved its average scores on its 2011 SAT scores over 2010, though the school's average has dropped over the last five years.

Dunwoody High students ranked 61st among the 440 Georgia high schools included in data released Wednesday by the Georgia Department of Education. DHS beat the state average total score, 1,445, by 70 points and the national average score, 1,500, by 15 points.

Overall, DHS students turned a mean total SAT score of 1,515, with mean scores in reading at 510, math at 503 and writing at 502.

The school’s 2011 numbers fell below the national average (514) for math, but beat the national average (497) in reading.

The high school has had relatively consistent average scores over the last five years, ranging from total scores of 1497 in 2010 to 1526 in 2007. But the average has declined slightly over that time.

However, the number of test takers at Dunwoody High School in 2011 was the highest in five years, with 278 students.
