Dunwoody HS Ranked on Washington Post's High School Challenge

Challenge measures how well schools prepare students for college

Dunwoody High School prepares its students well for college.

That's according to the Washington Post's 2011 High School Challenge, which measures how well schools do in preparing their students for the next level of education.

According to the Post, Dunwoody ranks 836, out of the top 1,904 schools featured in the challenge. The paper looked at country's approximately 27,000 high schools for the challenge.

 The Post uses a formula that divides the number of advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and other college level test given by the school in 2010, by the number of graduating seniors.

The minimum ratio to make the list was 1.0. Dunwoody's ratio was 1.955.

According to the Post, only 7 percent of the country's estimated 27,000 public schools reached that ratio and made the list. 

The school ranked 39th in the state and 6th in DeKalb County.
