Dunwoody barbecue fans may have to travel out of town to “Put Some South in Your Mouth.”

Old Hickory House has closed the Dunwoody location, although a Tucker restaurant remains open, according to the Atlanta Business Journal. The restaurant at 5490 Chamblee Dunwoody Road has closed it doors, the business publication says, citing a recorded message on the restaurant’s voicemail.

A marquee on the property says the restaurant has shut down for renovations, the publication said Thursday. But the restaurant’s owners have not sought city permits for the renovation, officials said, and work can’t be done without them.

The original Old Hickory House opened in 1953 at a different site. The eatery was known for its Brunswick stew and Southern breakfast items.

According to the Dunwoody Convention & Visitors Bureau, former President Jimmy Carter used to fly Old Hickory’s stew and sauce to be prepared at the White House, says the Business Journal.
