Dunwoody plans to regulate wireless cell antennas

The Dunwoody City Council plans to regulate the use of small cell wireless antennas that are placed in the public right of way.

According to Reporter Newspapers, the issue came up during Tuesday night’s city council meeting.

The city’s planning commission has approved a change to city code allowing attachments to existing telecommunications towers as long if they don’t change the structure’s physical dimensions.

If the antenna adds more than 10 percent in height; extends more than six feet into the right of way; or 20 feet in width on private property, then a permit would be needed.
