Dunwoody Police Blotter Dec. 11-17: Burglaries, Assaults, Shoplifting

Burglary

• Three teens on the 4300 block of East Kings Point Circle in the early morning hours of Dec. 13. An attentive neighbor saw a suspicious car idling in front of a home on the block and called police.

• A residence was reported burglarized on the 6100 block of Abercorn Avenue on the night of Dec. 14. A Playstation 3, Playstation games, Blueray movies and clothing worth a total of $470, were reported stolen.

• An attempted burglary was reported at a residence on the 5300 block of Dunwoody Club Creek on the morning of Dec. 15. A window was broken with a rock. Nothing was reported stolen.

• A home was reported burglarized on the 2300 block of Dunwoody Crossing on the evening of Dec. 15. Gold rings, Gucci handbags, watches, earrings, bracelets, an LG plasma television, an HP Probook and many other items were reported stolen. The stolen items were valued, in total, at $15,840.

 

Car Theft

• A blue 2007 Chevy Tahoe C1500 was reported stolen from the 4500 block of Olde Perimeter Way on the afternoon of Dec. 11. Also stolen with the car was a briefcase worth $350.

• A green 1998 Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen from the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Dec. 15.

 

Assault

• A 31-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested in the early hours of Dec. 11 for felony cruelty towards a child and misdemeanor assault charges on the 6700 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

• Two Dunwoody males were arrested on Dec. 14 on charges related to an aggravated assault with a weapon that occurred in late August. The assault occurred on the 6800 block of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard on the night of Aug. 25. A 22-year-old Dunwoody man was arrested on charges of felony battery, as well as misdemeanor counts of simple battery and disorderly conduct. A 17-year-old Dunwoody male was arrested on three counts of misdemeanors battery and one count of felony terroristic threats

• An assault with a gun and a theft from a vehicle were reported on the morning of Dec. 14 at the 4700 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road. An HP laptop worth $500 was reported stolen.

• A 54-year-old Anderson, Ga. man was arrested on the morning of Dec. 16 on charges related to an assault. There was a two-vehicle accident on 285 near Ashford Dunwoody Road. Police responded and after investigation arrested the man on charges of battery family violence, hindering a 911 call and felony criminal damage to property.

 

Armed Robbery

• A , after he and another man allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint on the 1000 block of Ashwood Parkway early on Dec. 13. After a 19-mile police chase, he was arrested. His accomplice was able to flee without arrest.

 

Car Break-ins

• An Ogio briefcase, a MacBook Air computer and a Logitech external hard drive were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the evening of Dec. 12. The stolen items were valued at $2,725.

• A Dell Inspiron laptop and a Swiss Army backpack were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 1200 block of Ashford Crossing on the night of Dec. 12. The stolen items were valued at $2,550.

• A Dell laptop, a Pioneer stereo and a Seagate hard drive were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 300 block of Perimeter Center North on the morning of Dec. 15. The stolen items were valued at $2,651.

• A Dell laptop computer, an LL Bean computer bag and a Pandigital computer tablet worth a total of $1,525 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Dec. 16.

• An Apple iPhone 4 worth $400 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the afternoon of Dec. 16.

• A Lenovo computer, two iPads, a Canon camera, a Blackberry Storm, a speaker system, jewelry and software were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road on the afternoon of Dec. 16. The stolen items were valued at $6,570.

• A Tory Burch bag, a checkbook and makeup were reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the night of Dec. 16. The stolen items were valued at $300.

• A Garmin Nuvi GPS worth $250 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West in the early morning hours of Dec. 17.

• $400 in cash was reported stolen from a vehicle parked on the 100 block of Perimeter Center West on the night of Dec. 17.

 

Shoplifting

• A 32-year-old Atlanta woman was arrested on the evening of Dec. 13 for allegedly trying to steal a Dora the Explorer game, a Spongebob Squarepants game, a Cars2 game, other Disney software, a Wii game, scissors and a bag from Target, 100 Perimeter Center Pl. The stolen items were valued at a total of $157.41.

• A juvenile was arrested on the afternoon of Dec. 14 for allegedly trying to steal $56 in clothing from Macy’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• A juvenile was arrested on the night of Dec. 14 for allegedly trying to steal tights and a shirt from Marshall’s, 1131 Hammond Dr. The stolen items were valued at $19.98.

• A 33-year-old Acworth man was arrested on the afternoon of Dec. 15 for allegedly stealing a bottle of Chanel No. 5 worth $105 from Bloomingdale’s at the Perimeter Mall. He was arrested on charges of shoplifting and obstruction.

• An 18-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on charges of shoplifting for allegedly trying to steal a pair of jeans worth $148 from Dillards at the Perimeter Mall on the afternoon of Dec. 15.

• A 44-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the morning of Dec. 16 for allegedly stealing $15.96 in groceries from Target, 100 Perimeter Center Pl.

• An 18-year-old Hapeville woman and a juvenile girl were arrested on the morning of Dec. 16 for allegedly trying to steal three pairs of jeans worth a total of $540 from Dillards at the Perimeter Mall.

• Three Atlanta women ages 19, 21 and 20, were arrested on the evening of Dec. 16 for allegedly trying to steal $862.49 in clothing from Macy’s at the Perimeter Mall.

• An 18-year-old Atlanta man was arrested on the night of Dec. 16 for allegedly trying to steal three pairs of MEK jeans worth a total of $369 from Dillards at the Perimeter Mall.

 

Theft

• Three air conditioning units worth $1,000 each were reported stolen from the Lacota Apartments, 6664 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. on the afternoon of Dec. 16.

• A diamond ring worth $10,000 was reported stolen at the Peachford Hospital, 2151 Peachford Rd. on the afternoon of Dec. 16.

• An Apple photobook was reported stolen from a residence at the 2400 block of Madison Commons on the evening of Dec. 14. The book was valued at $80.

• A 33-year-old Lilburn man was arrested on the afternoon of Dec. 14 for allegedly stealing at iPad worth $800 from a customer at a restaurant at the 4400 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road.

 

Gang graffiti

• Gang tagging was reported on the morning of Dec. 12 at the 4600 block of Peachtree Place Parkway.

 

Drug possession

• A 37-year-old Dunwoody woman was arrested on counts of felony drug possession, marijuana possession and obedience of a traffic control device. She was arrested at the intersection of North Peachtree Road and Cotillion Drive in the early hours of Dec. 13.

 

Check forgery

• A check forgery of $14,300 was reported on the 1400 block of Eastham Drive on the night of Dec. 17.
