DHS Senior is Presidential Scholar Semi-Finalist

Dunwoody High School student Eilidh Geddes among just 16 students in the state selected as a semi-finalist

 A senior at Dunwoody High School is a semi-finalist for the U.S. Presidential Scholars program.

Eilidh Geddes was among two students in the DeKalb School District and 17 in Georgia to be the selected as a semi-finalist.

Geddes, the captain of , holds 12 varsity letters in marching band, swim team and debate.

She’s the president of the National Honor Society, valedictorian of Dunwoody High School,  recipient of the Girl Scout Silver Award, a Star Student, recipient of the Foundation Fellowship, and recipient of a full academic scholarship to attend the University of Georgia in the fall, where she plans to study economics with the aim of attending law school, according to the DeKalb County School District.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognizes outstanding high school seniors from around the country and is considered to be among the nation’s highest honor for high school students, according to the county.

Students are selected for the program based on exceptional SAT and ACT scores and/or outstanding work in the arts. The majority of candidates are selected based on scores.

Geddes and John ‘Jack’ Lane of Lakeside High School were the two semifinalists from DeKalb County.
