Dunwoody Teens Sneaking Out To Go To Waffle House Caught By Police

Eight teens were sneaking out of the house around 2 a.m. Wednesday, when a patrolling officer caught them.

DUNWOODY, GA — Officers in Dunwoody enourage parents to be mindful of their children's behaviors after a group of teenagers were caught by police sneaking out of the house to go to Waffle House, police said Wednesday.

"Parents, please talk to your children as they are off from school for the holidays and ensure they are not out causing problems. If they are, expect to be woken from your sleep by a phone call or knock on the door from officers," Dunwoody Police said in a news release.

Eight teens, ranging in age from 13-17, were caught by an officer patrolling the area of Chamblee Dunwoody Road around 2 a.m., police said. While patrolling, police said the officer saw a car speeding as it was attempting to leave the neighborhood.

As the officer neared the car, it pulled into a driveway and the teens ran, police said.

"Unfortunately, they decided to run from the police and were caught, thus placing them on Santa’s last minute naughty list," police said in the release.

Police urge residents who see suspicious activity to call 911 immediately.
