Family Fun Celebrates Foster Care Children at Six Flags
Discounted ticket sales for Fam Fest end Sept. 12. Proceeds will support the United Methodist Children's Home.

From a news release:
The Decatur-based United Methodist Children’s Home is hosting Fam Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia on Sept. 20 to celebrate foster children and the families who open their homes and hearts to them.
This event will raise awareness that more than 9,500 children and growing are in the custody of the state of Georgia and good care, including foster care, is urgently needed. Georgia will consider important changes to the child welfare system in the coming year, and Children’s Home President and CEO Bob Bruder-Mattson is a member of the governor’s Child Welfare Reform Council.

About the United Methodist Children’s Home
The United Methodist Children’s Home was established in 1871 to care for children orphaned during the Civil War. The Children’s Home has evolved to help children and families as their needs grow and change. We now place children into safe and loving foster care homes while helping to restore family relationships; prepare older youth who are still in Georgia’s foster care system to make positive life decisions as independent adults; and strengthen and preserve families, including by providing housing and support to families at risk of homelessness.
