Georgia Deputy Charged With Assault While Transporting Prisoner to Dunwoody
The officer allegedly raped a female prisoner who he was bringing to Dunwoody in late April.

WALKER COUNTY, GA -- A northwest Georgia deputy sheriff is facing charges of rape after he allegedly assaulted a woman he was transporting to Dunwoody.
Wesley Holland was fired last week from his job as a Walker County deputy sheriff, and then booked on three felony charges, including rape.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Holland was transporting a female prison from Fort Oglethorpe to Dunwoody on April 30, 2016. He allegedly stopped in Gordon County, and then assaulted the woman.

The woman reported the incident to Dunwoody police, according to the Northwest Georgia News. Dunwoody police then contacted the Walker County Sheriff's Department, which then requested the GBI to investigate.
Holland was released last Thursday on a $30,000 bond.
