Man ID'd After Being Accused Of Pointing Gun At Dunwoody Police

The officers shot at the man but missed him, police said.

DUNWOODY, GA — The man accused of pointing a gun at Dunwoody officers Thursday afternoon was identified by police Friday as Khalil Thomas, 23.

Officers were responding to an unknown trouble call around 2:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Perimeter Center West, where they engaged with the man, police said.

He pointed a gun at the officers, and the officers shot at him but missed him, police said.

No one was injured, police said.

Thomas is charged on suspicion of four counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.

The case is being investigated by the Sandy Springs Police Department.
