Man Killed for Evading Police in Dunwoody had Similar Charges in Cobb

Cobb County Sheriff's records show that the man who eluded police Wednesday night in Dunwoody was charged with a similar offense this summer that landed him in the Cobb County jail.

The 34-year-old Marietta man also has been charged with two DUIs and has three separate incidents of arrest that show he has been booked into the Cobb jail.

Bradley Almy was shot and killed Wednesday night by Dunwoody Police Sgt. Jason Dove after he led police on a chase that started at City Hall and ended on Perimeter Center East.

Dove shot the man after he rammed cars and continued to try and elude police at the Ashford Dunwoody and Perimeter Center East intersection near Perimeter Mall, according to Dunwoody Police.

Almy was involved in a similar incident last June, without the tragic results.

He spent three days in jail after a traffic incident with police that appeared to start with an improper lane change or speeding.

Almy then tried to elude police, according to the charges, and had an open container of alcohol in his vehicle. He was also charged with a DUI and failure to have his license with him.

There was a $10,000 bond for the arrest.

Almy's other run-ins with Cobb County law enforcement were five years ago.

He was booked into Cobb County Jail in December 2007 for a court related charge, according to the booking record.

In August of the same year he was booked into Cobb County Jail for a suspended registration, no license, and a charge of driving under the influence.

The booking charges don't reflect whether the man was ever convicted of any of the charges. None of the charges he went to jail for - including evading police -  are felonies.
