Former Atlanta Hawk Dikembe Mutombo surprised students at Chestnut Charter Elementary.

Students at Chesnut Charter Elementary School received a special surprise on Sept. 18 when cheerleaders from Dunwoody High School and former Atlanta Hawk Dikembe Mutombo appeared at the Chesnut Challenge Fun Run fundraiser kickoff

The cheerleaders wowed students, parents and faculty with stunts and cheers written just for Chesnut.

Mutombo, an eight-time NBA All-Star and four-time winner of NBA Defensive Player of the Year, spoke to the children about the importance of education and told them to never limit themselves.
