Near Dunwoody: Chamblee Police Aid in Kidnapping Case
Chamblee Police are handling the investigation of a kidnapping case that resulted in an overnight Sandy Springs SWAT standoff.

A Sandy Springs apartment complex was the center of activity for several hours overnight Monday, as police and North Metro SWAT gathered to free a woman allegedly being held by her ex-boyfriend.
Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose said Chamblee Police have video of a man kidnapping the woman from a Walmart. He brought her back to his apartment at the Pointe at Canyon Ridge, Rose said, and kept her there.

Rose said the SWAT team was on the way into the apartment by forced entry shortly after 4 a.m.
“She walked out as they were coming in. It appeared she was beaten,” he said. “Afterwards they were going to go to Waffle House to eat. At that point SWAT was coming up.”
