If you are seeking a hearty wine for a cold winter night, you might want to take a chance on a bottle of 2016 Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel. We did just that the other night, with a bottle alongside our Chicken Parmesan.
This is a hearty, rich and jammy Zin with an aroma of fresh picked dark berries. The flavors are dark cherry and blackberry, with a spicy background. Lots of backbone in the finish with mild tannins, and a lingering aftertaste. The alcohol content is 14.5%, and Norm's score is 88.

It was good with our Chicken Parm, and would be a good companion for most Italian Pasta dishes, as well as hearty soups and stew, and even chili.
