Condominium homeowners’ associations in Dunwoody and Midtown have accused a Chamblee property manager of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from them while he was in charge of the properties, WSB-TV reports.

Michael Sisson faces charges of theft in both Dunwoody and Chamblee for his alleged role in stealing $180,000 from various homeowners’ associations for which he was managing property.

One of the thefts happened in Dunwoody, where police discovered evidence of a theft of $130,000 from a townhome community off Ashford-Dunwoody Road.

“It took some detailed work, some great work by our detectives and analysts, but we found there were some major discrepancies in the account,” Officer Tim Fecht of the Dunwoody Police Department told WSB.

Fecht said Sisson worked with many homeowners’ associations, so the investigation continues.

“I believe there are up to 12 additional homeowner’s associations that Mr. Sisson was in charge of and we are working with Atlanta, Chamblee and some other cities to help with the investigation to see if there was any additional theft conducted,” Fecht said.

Sisson is accused of similar actions in Midtown at the One South Prado condominiums near Piedmont Park.

WSB-TV spoke with a representative of the association and learned that when Sisson did not turn over the HOA’s money, he was sued for access to his financial records regarding One South Prado. Once the HOA had possession of Sissons’ records, it realized they were allegedly short by about $50,000.

Sisson has until Thursday to report to the DeKalb County jail, WSB-TV reports.
