Save A Life! LifeLine’s DeKalb County Animal Services in Dire Need of Adopters and our Pets of the Week: Melvin and Pinky

Warmer weather has brought an influx of animals to DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS), and the shelter is overrun with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.  To save lives and encourage adoptions, DCAS is offering reduced adoption fees of only $20 for dogs over six months and $10 for cats over six months until the end of May! Adoption counselors will be on hand to ensure the animals are being placed in good homes.

The shelter is also in need of foster homes for kittens who are too young to adopt and who would do better in homes than in the shelter.  You can help by fostering kittens for a few weeks.  For more information, please contact the shelter at 404-294-2164.  Fostering is a fun way to help these babies!

DCAS Pets of the Week:  Melvin and Pinky

Our first pet of the week has a wonderful personality that is a great combination of optimistic, playful and happy.  Meet Melvin, a very handsome, bulldog mix who is about three year’s old.  Melvin has stunning eyes: one is blue and the other hazel, and he is as good natured as they come.  Melvin loves to play with people and other dogs, but he also enjoys relaxing.  Come meet this good looking guy, and adopt him for only $20 through the end of May.

Take one look at our next pet of the week’s photo, and you’ll say the same thing as everyone else, “Aw!”  Pinky is overflowing with cuteness and has the sweetest facial expressions.  This loving girl is about three year’s old and is an Australian Shepherd/Cattle dog mix. However, unlike most Australian Shepherds, Pinky adores cuddling and is happiest in your lap.  Adopt Pinky and you won’t be sorry!  She is only $20 through the end of May.
