Suspect in Minnesota Robbery, Shooting Arrested in Georgia

Police arrested the suspect at a suburban Atlanta motel on charges of attempted murder and aggravated robbery.

A man suspected of robbing a pawn shop in Ramsey County, Minnesota, and shooting a store employee was arrested Tuesday in Georgia, according to Minnesota officials.

Marvin Lee Clinton Spencer, 24, was charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated robbery after police officers found him at a hotel in Doraville, GA.

His father and suspected accomplice, Marvin Spencer, 51, remains at large.

The two men are suspected of robbing a Pawn America and fleeing in a Chevy Cobalt with $200,000 worth of jewelry.

The elder Spencer was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of second-degree assault, TwinCities.com reports. He is suspected of shooting and wounding a store employee in the leg, and shooting at two other employees.

Another hotel guest reportedly heard the two men discussing the robbery and contacted officials, according to police. The guest said the men were carrying cash and wearing lots of jewelry.
